10 There are two limitations on the power handling ability of a transistor: average junction temperature and second 5.0 breakdown. Safe operating area curves indicate I 100ms C − VCE (AMP) limits of the transistor that must be observed for reliable 5.0ms 2.0 operation; i.e., the transistor must not be subjected to greater 1.0ms dissipation than the curves indicate.
