  Introduction
  A single LTC В®2983 temperature measurement device
  can support up to 18 2-wire RTD probes, as shown
  in Figure 1. Each RTD measurement involves simultaneous sensing of two voltages developed across
  RSENSE and the RTD probe RTDx due to the current
  IS. Each voltage is sensed differentially, and given
  the LTC2983’s high common mode rejection ratio,
  the number of RTDs in the stack does not adversely
  affect the individual measurements.
  The choice of the RTD probe depends on the system
  accuracy and sensitivity requirements. For example,
  given that 2-wire probes are used, the PT-1000 may
  prove more robust in the presence of wiring’s parasitic resistance.
  Once the RTDs are selected, IS and RSENSE should be
  chosen so that voltage at the top of the resistor stack (V at the CH1 input) does not exceed the input common mode limit of the LTC2983 over the operating
  temperature range of the system. This requirement

  Tom Domanski The LTC2983 measures a wide variety of temperature
  sensors and digitally outputs the result, in В°C or В°F, with
  0.1В°C accuracy and 0.001В°C resolution. It can measure
  the temperature of virtually all standard (type B, E, J,
  K, N, S, R, T) or custom thermocouples, automatically
  compensate for cold junction temperatures and linearize
  the results. The device can also measure temperature with
  standard 2-, 3-, or 4-wire RTDs, thermistors and diodes.
  A single LTC2983 temperature measurement device can support up to 18 2-wire

  reliability. Of course, industrial environments are challenging for
  performing precision measurements. High voltages, large sources
  of EMI and long cable runs between sensor and measurement
  device all conspire to deter accuracy. This article shows how to
  overcome these barriers, and improve the noise immunity and
  overvoltage tolerance of the LTCВ®2983, LTC2984 and LTC2986
  temp-to-bits devices, without degrading measurement accuracy.
  With up to 20 input channels, the temp-to-bits

  rudimentary thermometer capable of detecting temperature
  changes, and two hundred years later, Seebeck discovered the
  thermocouple. Given the long history of temperature measurement
  and its extensive use today, one would think that accuracy
